Judah Longgrear

FOUNDER & Chief executive officer

Judah leads The Nickel Ride in strategic direction, growth, partnerships, sales, and business development.

Prior to founding The Nickel Ride, Judah built an astounding career in sales and customer relations while working at companies, such as Gartner, Salesforce, NetApp, and that benefits community members, tourists, local businesses, and the cities and towns they occupy. His vision has allowed The Nickel Ride team to work directly with local governments and businesses to bring The Nickel Ride’s unique service offering to the forefront of the rideshare industry. The Nickel Ride is poised to become the next big thing to disrupt the transportation industry and become the number one free rideshare service across the globe.

Tristan Turner

partner & Chief
strategy officer

Tristan is responsible for assisting with strategic direction and corporate investment at The Nickel Ride.

Tristan joined The Nickel Ride in late 2017 after falling in love with Judah's innovative rideshare vision. He works closely with Longgrear to define The Nickel Ride’s long and short-term goals, expand its reach to additional cities, and better serve the community. While at university, Tristan studied a wide breadth of subjects including business, finance, engineering, and technology, ultimately graduating with a degree in engineering from Rutgers University. Following university, Tristan worked primarily in sales, both in the finance and technology sectors, while at the same time he began to research and make early stage investments in up-and-coming technology companies. Emboldened by these companies’ entrepreneurship and success, Tristan left the corporate world to help foster the growth of similar entrepreneurial and innovative ideas. To date, The Nickel Ride remains his most exciting venture yet and he looks forward to continuing to contribute his talents to its vision and future success.

Shawn O'Brien

Chief Marketing Officer

Shawn is responsible for all marketing, media relations, and operational strategies at The Nickel Ride.

Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Shawn held various global and domestic marketing leadership roles at prominent companies, such as Scandit, NaviNet, IDG Enterprises, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. His determination to be the best he could be allowed him to quickly work his way up the corporate ladder. However, after spending nearly a decade in the corporate environment, he decided it was time to pursue a career path with more meaning for himself and is now following his true passion of being an entrepreneur. Shawn’s enthusiasm for success and his burning desire to build something of significance that gives back to the world makes him the perfect fit for a community-driven company like The Nickel Ride. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Shawn in person he’s one of the best guys to grab a beer with and talk about anything you want.

Matthew Scanio

Chief sales officer & Dir. of bus. relations

Matthew is responsible for all business development, account management, and sales strategies at The Nickel Ride.

Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Matthew navigated the sales cycles of large enterprise companies, such as Gartner, Intuit, and Oracle. In his seven years in Sales, he quickly gained the reputation of a professional that stands out from his peers most notably because of his dedication to provide nothing short of excellence when it comes to meeting the needs of his customers. He’s unlike many sales professionals, in that his primary goal isn’t to just land the deal, but rather to land the person because he recognizes the value in building truly authentic relationships with his customer so both parties benefit mutually. Matthew’s desire to move away from the “big sales” and focus on serving the needs of smaller establishments makes him exactly the kind of team member we need for a company focused on growing local communities and businesses. It’s only a matter of time before you cross paths with Matthew and we can say with all sincerity that his call or email is one that you’ll want to answer if you’re looking for a refreshing conversation that will undoubtedly help your business.

Sven Hermann

Chief technology officer

Sven is responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of The Nickel Ride's mobile applications and digital platforms.

Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Sven spent over a decade and a half working with Fortune 100 companies and multiple startups while also pursuing various personal entrepreneurial endeavors to enhance his skills as an entrepreneur. He has an extensive background in Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering that has propelled him to where he is today. He's extremely passionate about technology, which is why he loves trying to solve problems he encounters in life with technology. "It's very simple" is Sven's classic response to any complication situation, because regardless of how complicated the case may be, he possesses a unique ability to break down complex problems into simple and actionable tasks that anyone can understand. This rare quality and many more are what make Sven the right fit for the fast-growing startup that is The Nickel Ride.

Matthew Jackson

director of government relations

Matthew "Zeke" is responsible for managing government relations and regulations as well as navigating the various city ordinances for The Nickel Ride.

Zeke holds a Master’s in Public Administration and has served as a City Manager in communities in the Southeast and Midwest. Zeke has an extensive background in economic development, rural transportation systems, and local government management. Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Zeke served on the Board of Directors for several entities, including the Pitt County North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation District, the Door County Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the Wayne County North Carolina Rural Transportation Planning Organization (RPO), the Door County Scenic Byways Commission, and the Door County Wisconsin Tourism Zone Commission. Zeke was also the principal staff person in charge of the development of the Sister Bay Trolley System in Wisconsin. Zeke is an extremely knowledgeable resource for government-related topics and has become a vital component to the continued growth of The Nickel Ride.

Natalia Harvey

Natalia is responsible for assisting customer service, ambassador scheduling, executive assistance to the CEO, event organization, & maintaining an orderly office for The Nickel Ride.

Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Natalia was an integral part of other organizations, such as Heart, Body, & Mind Home Care, The RocketLounge, and Greencastle, Inc. Natalia’s passion for startups and innovative companies can be traced back to her days where she started and managed two of her own businesses in Northern Virginia and Southwest Florida. Her can-do attitude, optimistic approach to every situation, desire to help at any moment, and ability to learn on the fly make her an indispensable asset to the team. Natalia is the type of colleague that exudes charisma and positivity, which is refreshing in a fast-paced startup environment. When you begin your journey with The Nickel Ride you will most certainly cross paths with Natalia in one way or another. Whether it’s at your community’s chamber meeting or during one of your local public events, she will be there with all smiles ready to get to know you.

Steve Blanco

Chief Operating Officer & Chief People Officer

Steve is responsible for company's operations strategies and people operations to ensure the best infrastructure is in place to attract, develop, and retain the best people for The Nickel Ride

Prior to joining The Nickel Ride, Steve has held various HR and Operations positions for many prominent companies, such as Parkland Health and Hospital Systems, Susan G. Komen, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, Winegardner & Hammons Hotel Group, and Marriott Corporation. Steve brings nearly 30 years of combined Operations, Human Resources and Compliance, and Ethics leadership experience to the table. His background includes a blend of corporate HR experience and more than 10 years of working as an entrepreneur. He has an SPHR (Senior Professional in HumanResources) Certification, a BA in Hospitality Management from Michigan State University, and a Master of Science in Management Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. Steve is also a trusted advisor, having provided consulting services to more than 125 organizations throughout 48 states and four countries.
